A superb effort by Jose Marin carried the Springfield Sliders (7-4) to a 2-0 win over the Champion City Kings on Thursday at Davidson Stadium.

Marin struck out 12 hitters en route to the the Springfield Sliders win. The Springfield Sliders' pitcher tossed nine innings of shutout ball and allowed only one hit.

Jordan Norton was charged with his second loss of the year. He lasted just five innings, walked none, struck out two, and allowed two runs.
