The Butler BlueSox get key pinch-hit in 10-4 victory over the Lafayette Aviators

Nick Stotler was cold coming off the bench, but Stotler warmed up quickly as Stotler stroked a key pinch-hit double in the one to lead the Butler BlueSox (8-5) to a 10-4 win over the Lafayette Aviators (5-6) on Wednesday at Loeb Stadium.

With the Butler BlueSox leading by one in the first inning, Stotler came to the plate and doubled, plating Jamie Switalski.

Stotler had three extra-base hits for the Butler BlueSox.

The Butler BlueSox blew out the Lafayette Aviators thanks to 15 hits, including zero extra base hits. The Butler BlueSox scored three runs in the sixth on the Butler BlueSox scored in the sixth on an RBI double by Stotler, an RBI double by Tyler Niemann, and an RBI double by Russ Clark.

Connor Coward's eight strikeouts helped the Butler BlueSox to the victory. Coward allowed four earned runs on five hits and no walks over seven innings.

Tasker Strobel (1-1) took the loss for the Lafayette Aviators. He lasted just 3 2/3 innings, walked none, struck out none, and allowed four runs.

Clark, Stotler, Switalski and Will Schneider helped lead the Butler BlueSox. They combined for 10 hits and six RBIs.
