Jack Thompson went 2-3 as the Chillicothe Paints (19-20) took home a 4-1 victory over the West Virginia Miners (22-16) at Linda K. Epling Stadium on Saturday.
He singled in the fourth inning and doubled in the sixth inning.Brendan Burns struck out six hitters en route to the the Chillicothe Paints win. Burns allowed one earned run on five hits and one walk over seven innings.
Austin Goss ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with his first loss of the year. He lasted just 5 2/3 innings, walked two, struck out two, and allowed three runs.
