Andrew McDonald pitched seven shutout innings, but it wasn't enough to carry the Champion City Kings (1-2) to a win on Sunday, as the Champion City Kings fell to the Butler BlueSox (2-2) 2-1 at Kelly Automotive Park.

A walk-off single by Mitchell Wood gave the Butler BlueSox the win.

Wood was solid at the plate for the Butler BlueSox. Wood went 0-2. He singled in the ninth inning.

Jamie Switalski allowed no earned runs, four hits and four walks while striking out one over six innings of work.

Carter Krick improved to 1-0 on the year by picking up the win for the Butler BlueSox. Krick struck out one, walked none and gave up two hits.

Austin Marchant couldn't get it done on the hill for the Champion City Kings, taking a loss. He lasted just two-thirds of an inning, walked one, struck out one, and allowed one run.
