The Quincy Gems (3-0) beat the Kokomo Jackrabbits (1-3) 11-6 on Sunday at Kokomo Municipal Stadium behind Jake Walters, who collected three hits.

The Kokomo Jackrabbits had no answer for E. Ranos, who kept runners off the basepaths in his appearance. Ranos held the Kokomo Jackrabbits hitless over two innings, allowed no earned runs, walked one and struck out one.

Matthew Owens racked up three RBIs on one hit for the Kokomo Jackrabbits. He homered in the fourth inning.

J. Gorusch got the win for the Quincy Gems. He allowed one run over two innings. He struck out three, walked two and surrendered one hit.

Trey Bickel ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with his first loss of the year. He allowed seven runs in 3 2/3 innings, walked two and struck out four.
