Fans were treated to a high-scoring affair Saturday as the Hannibal Cavemen (1-1) outscored the Springfield Sliders (0-2) 10-9.

The two teams combined for 21 hits in the game.

Ryan Furtney pitched lights out for the Hannibal Cavemen. Furtney gave up just one hit, allowed no earned runs, walked two and struck out two during his three innings of work.

Corey Pic was effective even in defeat, mowing down eight the Hannibal Cavemen batters and allowing three runs.

Derek Jones recorded his first win of the year for the Hannibal Cavemen. He allowed three runs over one inning. He struck out one, walked one and surrendered two hits.

Blake Thompson (0-1) took the loss for the Springfield Sliders. He lasted just two-thirds of an inning, walked one, struck out one, and allowed two runs.
