The DuPage Drones (0-1) came out firing, but couldn't hang on to the lead, ending up on the losing side of a 5-3 ballgame against the Kokomo Jackrabbits (1-0) on Thursday at Kokomo Municipal Stadium.

The Kokomo Jackrabbits took the lead in the sixth inning on a two-run home run by Clay Benefield.

Benefield racked up two RBIs on two hits for the Kokomo Jackrabbits. He singled in the second innings and homered in the sixth inning.

Parker Sanburn's nine strikeouts were enough to push the Kokomo Jackrabbits past the DuPage Drones. Sanburn allowed one earned run, two hits and two walks over six innings.

Michael DiViesti racked up two RBIs on one hit for the DuPage Drones. He tripled in the second inning.

Joe Palasiewicz ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with his first loss of the year. He lasted just 1 2/3 innings, walked none, struck out one, and allowed two runs.
