The Gateway Grizzlies third-inning burst enough to top the Evansville Otters, 9-1

The Gateway Grizzlies (15-20) took down the Evansville Otters (21-13) 9-1 on Wednesday at Bosse Field after slamming the Evansville Otters with five runs in the third inning.

The Gateway Grizzlies scored in the third on a single by Cody Livesay, a double by Seth Heck, a two-run single by Craig Massoni, a triple by Brandon Thomas, , and a double by Blake Brown.

Tyler Tewell had a busy day at the plate, collecting three extra-base hits.

Vincent Molesky's nine strikeouts helped the Gateway Grizzlies to the victory. Molesky allowed one earned run, five hits and no walks over six innings.

Josh Allen boosted his batting average thanks to a perfect 3-3 day at the plate to pace the Evansville Otters. He singled in the first and fourth innings and doubled in the sixth inning.

Dylan Badura (1-1) was the game's losing pitcher. He lasted just 1 1/3 innings, walked one, struck out one, and allowed five runs.

Logan Davis, Thomas, Tewell and Livesay helped lead the Gateway Grizzlies. They combined for 10 hits and six RBIs.
