The Traverse City Beach Bums (9-16) and the Joliet Slammers (14-13) each put runners in scoring position on Saturday, but the Traverse City Beach Bums capitalized on more RBI opportunities, pulling out a 3-1 win at Wuerfel Park.

Jacob Lanning picked up the win for the Traverse City Beach Bums. Lanning allowed no earned runs, seven hits and no walks while striking out two over nine innings of work.

Despite the loss, the Joliet Slammers' Sean Townsley dominated the Traverse City Beach Bums' batters, giving up three runs and striking out nine.

Townsley ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with his second loss of the year.
