A superb effort by Zeb Sneed carried the River City Rascals (9-7) to a 2-0 win over the Traverse City Beach Bums (6-10) on Wednesday at Wuerfel Park.

Sneed struck out 11, paving the way for a the River City Rascals win. The River City Rascals' pitcher tossed nine innings of shutout ball and allowed only two hits.

Jason Merjano did his best to jumpstart the offense for the River City Rascals, reaching base three times. He scored one run and had one RBI. He singled in the fifth and ninth innings.

Despite the loss, the Traverse City Beach Bums' Rob Blanc dominated the River City Rascals' batters, giving up zero runs and striking out six.

Benjamin Libuda ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with his first loss of the year. He lasted just two innings, walked two, struck out none, and allowed one run.
