The Schaumburg Boomers (3-10) jumped out to an early lead, but were unable to hold on and lost 6-4 to the Washington Wild Things (7-5) on Friday.

While the Schaumburg Boomers led until the sixth inning, the Washington Wild Things worked their way back and took the lead on a solo home run by Ricky Rodriguez.

Jimmy Yezzo had two extra-base hits for the Washington Wild Things. He doubled in the second inning, homered in the fifth inning, and singled in the sixth inning.

Shawn Payne racked up two RBIs on one hit for the Schaumburg Boomers. He homered in the first inning.

Matt Fraudin improved to 2-0 on the year by picking up the win for the Washington Wild Things. He allowed four runs over six innings. Fraudin struck out three, walked one and gave up six hits.

Kagen Hopkins (1-1) took the loss for the Schaumburg Boomers. He lasted just 1 2/3 innings, walked one, struck out one, and allowed two runs.

The Washington Wild Things were sparked by Bryan Haar and Rodriguez, who teamed up for six hits and six RBIs.
