Early lead gives the Windy City ThunderBolts easy victory over the Lake Erie Crushers, 10-4

The Windy City ThunderBolts (9-1) refused to relinquish the lead after grabbing it early against the Lake Erie Crushers (6-2), recording a 10-4 victory on Tuesday at Standard Bank Stadium.

With seven runs in the first three innings, the Windy City ThunderBolts left no doubt about the eventual outcome.

A fielder's choice and a two-run double by Reggie Lawson in the first inning fueled the Windy City ThunderBolts' offense early.

Blair Beck racked up three RBIs on two hits for the Windy City ThunderBolts.

The Lake Erie Crushers' lineup had no answer for Tyler Murphy. Murphy held the Lake Erie Crushers hitless over one inning, allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out three.

Jose Barraza had two extra-base hits for the Lake Erie Crushers. He singled in the fourth inning, doubled in the sixth inning, and homered in the eighth inning.

Ryan Strombom recorded his second win of the year for the Windy City ThunderBolts. He allowed three runs over six innings. Strombom struck out five, walked one and gave up six hits.

Colin Feldtman ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with his first loss of the year. He allowed six runs in 2 1/3 innings, walked one and struck out none.
