Offenses dominate as the Southern Illinois Miners outscore the Normal CornBelters 10-8

Fans were treated to a high-scoring affair Saturday as the Southern Illinois Miners (9-8) outscored the Normal CornBelters (6-12) 10-8.

The two teams combined for 22 hits in the game.

Steve Marino had two extra-base hits for the Southern Illinois Miners. He singled in the sixth inning and doubled in the fourth and eighth innings.

Aaron Dudley racked up three RBIs on two hits for the Normal CornBelters. He homered in the fourth inning and doubled in the seventh inning.

Andrew Potter improved to 1-0 on the year by picking up the win for the Southern Illinois Miners. Potter struck out one, walked one and gave up two hits.

Max Homick (2-2) took the loss for the Normal CornBelters. He allowed eight runs in 5 2/3 innings, walked two and struck out three.

The Southern Illinois Miners' Toby DeMello, Craig Massey, Nolan Earley and Marino combined for nine hits and six RBIs.
