The Evansville Otters make the most of 9 hits in 8-6 victory over the Schaumburg Boomers

The Evansville Otters (2-1) and the Schaumburg Boomers (1-2) both had scoring chances on Sunday, but it was the Evansville Otters that were able to capitalize on them as they pulled out an 8-6 win at Bosse Field.

Chris Sweeney racked up four RBIs on two hits for the Evansville Otters. He doubled in the third inning and homered in the seventh inning.

Randy McCurry brought the heat against the Schaumburg Boomers during his outing. McCurry held the Schaumburg Boomers hitless over two innings, allowed no earned runs, walked one and struck out two.

Mark Nelson did his best to jumpstart the offense for the Schaumburg Boomers, reaching base four times. He also drove in one runner. He singled in the first, third, and sixth innings.

Jake Joyce (0-2) took the loss for the Schaumburg Boomers. He lasted just two-thirds of an inning, walked one, struck out two, and allowed four runs.
