A walk-off solo home run from Chris Sweeney brought home the winning run for the Evansville Otters (1-1) in a 4-3 victory over the Schaumburg Boomers (1-1) in 10 innings at Bosse Field on Friday.
Sweeney was solid at the plate for the Evansville Otters. Sweeney went 1-5, drove in one and scored one run. He homered in the tenth inning.
Josh Allen racked up two RBIs on two hits for the Evansville Otters. He singled in the first inning and homered in the third innings.
Max Duval baffled the Schaumburg Boomers, striking out nine batters. Duval allowed no earned runs, three hits and one walk over five innings.
Luc Rennie improved to 1-0 on the year by picking up the win for the Evansville Otters. He struck out one, walked none and surrendered one hit.
Jake Joyce ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with his first loss of the year. He lasted just one-third of an inning, walked none, struck out none, and allowed one run.
