Ransom LaLonde racked up three RBIs on two hits for the Windy City ThunderBolts. He homered in the second inning and singled in the fourth inning.
A bright spot for the Joliet Slammers in the defeat was Marc Rutledge, who allowed only one run while striking out six.
Brandon Boyle improved to 1-0 on the year by picking up the win for the Windy City ThunderBolts. He struck out one, walked none and surrendered no hits.
Rutledge was charged with his first loss of the year.
