Shane Smith hopes every outing could go as well as Sunday, as Smith gave up two hits to carry the Cincinnati Steam (20-16) to a 9-2 victory over the Xenia Scouts (24-13) at Gradys Field.

The Cincinnati Steam blew out the Xenia Scouts thanks to 18 hits, including zero extra base hits. Caleb Fernholz was charged with his third loss of the year. He lasted just 1 1/3 innings, walked one, struck out one, and allowed five runs.

The Cincinnati Steam's Brandon Giltrow, Jake Richmond, Beckner and Hall combined for 14 hits and three RBIs.
