The Xenia Scouts (22-12) beat the Richmond Jazz 9-2 on Thursday at Gradys Field after a six-run explosion in the fifth inning.
The Xenia Scouts scored in the fifth on a groundout by Donald Ring, a hit by pitch, an RBI single by Chandler Adkins, a two-run single by Jeremy Barth, and a solo home run by Evan McDonald.
Adkins racked up two RBIs on three hits for the Xenia Scouts.
The Richmond Jazz (9-24) had no answer for Jorge Lozano, who kept runners off the basepaths in his appearance. The Richmond Jazz managed just three hits off of Lozano, who allowed one earned run, walked five and struck out none during his six innings of work.
Joe Pourier (1-2) was the game's losing pitcher. He allowed seven runs in 6 2/3 innings, walked one and struck out four.
