The Cincinnati Steam (5-0) beat the Xenia Scouts (2-3) 6-4 on Thursday at Gradys Field behind Cole Murphy, who drove in three runs.

He homered in the third inning and singled in the ninth inning.

Gus Graham picked up the win for the Cincinnati Steam. Graham allowed two earned runs, four hits and one walk while striking out five over seven innings of work.

Despite the loss, the Xenia Scouts' Adrian Peraza dominated the Cincinnati Steam's batters, giving up zero runs and striking out seven.

Colt Wolfe had two extra-base hits for the Xenia Scouts. He doubled in the fourth inning.

Caleb Fernholz (0-2) took the loss for the Xenia Scouts. He allowed six runs in three innings, walked three and struck out two.
