The Hamilton Joes (23-12) jumped on the Licking County Settlers (18-16) early on their way to a 4-2 win on Friday at Foundation Field, scoring three runs in the first inning.

The Hamilton Joes scored in the first on an RBI double by Dane Tofteland and a two-run single by Kyle Moore.

Darien Smith picked up the win for the Hamilton Joes. Smith pitched seven innings and allowed no earned runs, seven hits and one walk while striking out five.

Clayton Colvin couldn't get it done on the rubber for the Licking County Settlers, taking a loss. He lasted just five innings, walked five, struck out two, and allowed four runs.
