The Hamilton Joes (21-12) took down the Lake Erie Monarchs (14-20) 9-3 on Wednesday at Foundation Field after slamming the Lake Erie Monarchs with seven runs in the first inning.

The Hamilton Joes scored in the first on a fielder's choice, an RBI double by Bryson Shelton, a two-run double by Tyler Thamann, and a three-run double by Ben Spiztnagel.

Spiztnagel racked up three RBIs on one hit for the Hamilton Joes.

Danny Hentz recorded his fourth win of the year for the Hamilton Joes. He allowed three runs over six innings. He struck out three, walked two and surrendered six hits.

Evan Marquardt (3-2) took the loss for the Lake Erie Monarchs. He allowed seven runs in two-thirds of an inning, walked three and struck out none.
