The Xenia Scouts take out the Hamilton Joes with help from Sharpe, 7-6

The Xenia Scouts (3-3) beat the Hamilton Joes (6-1) 7-6 on Sunday at Foundation Field behind John Sharpe, who went 2-4.

He singled in the fifth inning and tripled in the sixth inning.

Matthew Wade had an impressive outing against the Hamilton Joes' lineup. The Hamilton Joes managed just one hit off of the the Xenia Scouts' pitcher, who allowed one earned run, walked one and struck out six during his three innings of work.

Tyler Thamann led the Hamilton Joes' offensive threat, as he got on base three times in the game. He scored one run and had one RBI. He doubled in the ninth inning.

Carson Cupo brought the heat against the Xenia Scouts during his outing. The Xenia Scouts managed just one hit off of Cupo, who allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out three during his two innings of work.

Walter Rook IV improved to 2-0 on the year by picking up the win for the Xenia Scouts. He allowed two runs over 1 2/3 innings. He struck out none, walked one and surrendered two hits.

Landon Fraley (0-1) took the loss for the Hamilton Joes. He lasted just two-thirds of an inning, walked none, struck out one, and allowed one run.
