He homered in the eighth innings.The Richmond Jazz couldn't get anything going so long as Alex Cain was on the hill. Cain held the Richmond Jazz hitless over two innings, allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out three.
Despite the loss, the Richmond Jazz's Austin Gossmann dominated the Hamilton Joes' batters, giving up three runs and striking out eight.
Carson Lester recorded his first win of the year for the Hamilton Joes. Lester struck out five, walked three and gave up four hits.
Gossmann ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with his first loss of the year.
