The Hamilton Joes (8-2) and the Richmond Jazz (1-9) each put runners in scoring position on Saturday, but the Hamilton Joes capitalized on more RBI opportunities, pulling out a 6-5 win at Foundation Field.

Tyler Thamann boosted his batting average thanks to a perfect 4-4 day at the plate to pace the Hamilton Joes. He singled in the second, fifth, sixth, and eighth innings.

Ryan Sabo paced the Richmond Jazz at the plate. Sabo went 3-5 and drove in one. He doubled in the second inning and singled in the third and fifth innings.

Alex Schraffenberger improved to 1-0 on the year by picking up the win for the Hamilton Joes. He allowed three runs over seven innings. He struck out three, walked none and surrendered 11 hits.

Riley Futterknecht ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with his first loss of the year. He lasted just five innings, walked none, struck out seven, and allowed four runs.
