Cole Murphy did his best to prevent defeat.
Murphy racked up four RBIs on two hits for the Cincinnati Steam. He homered in the first inning and doubled in the second inning.
The Xenia Scouts had no answer for Murphy, who kept runners off the basepaths in his appearance. Murphy held the Xenia Scouts hitless over one inning, allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out one.
The Xenia Scouts blew out the Cincinnati Steam thanks to 15 hits, including zero extra base hits. Holloway, Wolfe, Chandler Adkins and Adrian Marquez helped lead the Xenia Scouts. They combined for 11 hits and nine RBIs.
