The Lake Erie Monarchs (7-12) outlasted the Cincinnati Steam (12-6) at McLeary Fld (Western Hills HS) 2-1 on Saturday after 11 innings.

With the score tied at one, Sammy Stevens came to the plate and doubled, plating Paul Gomez.

A bright spot for the Cincinnati Steam in the defeat was Matt Kent, who allowed only zero runs while striking out seven.

Alex Dickey was charged with his first loss of the year. He lasted just three innings, walked none, struck out three, and allowed one run.
