Both the Cincinnati Steam (23-16) and the Richmond Jazz (10-29) put runners aboard on Friday, but it was the Cincinnati Steam that were able to take advantage, pulling out a 6-5 win at McBride Stadium.

Cole Murphy reached base two times. He scored two runs and had one RBI. He homered in the third innings.

Dyllin Mucha was hot from the plate for the Richmond Jazz. Mucha went 3-5, drove in one and scored one run. He homered in the third inning and singled in the first and eighth innings.

Shane Smith recorded his sixth win of the year for the Cincinnati Steam. He allowed four runs over six innings. He struck out three, walked one and surrendered nine hits.

Joe Pourier (1-3) was the game's losing pitcher. He allowed six runs in seven innings, walked three and struck out four.
