A walk-off from Jake Vernon brought home the winning run for the Richmond Jazz (6-14) in a 6-5 victory over the Xenia Scouts (12-8) in 10 innings at McBride Stadium on Thursday.

Bobby Thompson reached base four times. He scored two runs and had one RBI. He singled in the first, sixth, and ninth innings.

The Xenia Scouts' lineup had no answer for Pete Wissel. Wissel held the Xenia Scouts hitless over two innings, allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out one.

Thompson recorded his first win of the year for the Richmond Jazz. Thompson struck out none, walked none and gave up no hits.

Jacob Chrysler (0-1) was the game's losing pitcher. He lasted just six innings, walked none, struck out two, and allowed two runs.
