A walk-off single from Cole Griesinger brought home the winning run for the Richmond Jazz (3-10) in a 5-4 victory over the Hamilton Joes in 10 innings at McBride Stadium on Saturday.
The Richmond Jazz were led by Griesinger's hitting. Griesinger went 2-5 and drove in one. He doubled in the fourth inning and singled in the tenth inning.
Pete Wissel pitched lights out for the Richmond Jazz. Wissel held the Hamilton Joes (8-5) hitless over four innings, allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out three.
Nick Horvath got the win, running his season record to 1-0. Horvath struck out four, walked none and gave up no hits.
Carson Cupo ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with his first loss of the year. He lasted just 1 2/3 innings, walked none, struck out one, and allowed one run.
