The Licking County Settlers (21-18) outlasted the S Ohio Copperheads (20-20) at Don Edwards Stadium 6-5 on Friday after 12 innings.

With the Licking County Settlers trailing by one, Luke Phillips came to the plate and doubled, plating Jason Moore and Hunter Nance.

Phillips had a busy day at the plate, collecting three extra-base hits. He singled in the first and ninth innings and doubled in the third, seventh, and twelfth innings.

Jason Hall brought the heat against the S Ohio Copperheads during his outing. Hall held the S Ohio Copperheads hitless over four innings, allowed no earned runs, walked one and struck out six.

The Licking County Settlers had no answer for Luke Hansen, who kept runners off the basepaths in his appearance. Hansen held the Licking County Settlers hitless over 1 2/3 innings, allowed no earned runs, walked one and struck out two.

Steven Ghiardi improved to 1-1 on the year by picking up the win for the Licking County Settlers. He allowed one run over one inning. He struck out two, walked none and surrendered one hit.

Jesse Anderson (0-4) took the loss for the S Ohio Copperheads. He lasted just 2 2/3 innings, walked three, struck out one, and allowed two runs.
