The Lake Erie Monarchs make the most of 7 hits in 6-3 victory over the Lorain County Ironmen

The Lake Erie Monarchs (12-18) and the Lorain County Ironmen (12-18) both had scoring chances on Friday, but it was the Lake Erie Monarchs that were able to capitalize on them as they pulled out a 6-3 win at Flat Rock Field.

Sammy Stevens had a busy day at the plate, collecting two extra-base hits. He doubled in the second inning, singled in the fourth innings, and homered in the eighth inning.

Chris Modrzynski picked up the win for the Lake Erie Monarchs. Modrzynski allowed one earned run, six hits and one walk while striking out three over six innings of work.

Luis Jimenez paced the Lorain County Ironmen at the plate. Jimenez went 1-4, drove in one and scored one run. He homered in the first inning.

Braun Miller ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with his third loss of the year. He lasted just four innings, walked one, struck out five, and allowed three runs.

The Lake Erie Monarchs were sparked by Maverick Prine and Stevens, who teamed up for four hits and five RBIs.
