The Licking County Settlers (12-10) beat the Lake Erie Monarchs (7-14) 3-0 on Tuesday at Flat Rock Field behind Robert Emery, who collected three hits.
He doubled in the seventh inning and singled in the first and eighth innings.Clayton Colvin handled the Lake Erie Monarchs' lineup with ease, racking up six strikeouts. The Licking County Settlers' pitcher tossed five innings of shutout ball and allowed only three hits.
Tyler Whitbread pitched six innings and allowed one earned run, five hits and three walks while striking out three.
Brett Kiser got the win, running his season record to 2-1. Kiser struck out four, walked none and gave up one hit.
Whitbread was charged with his third loss of the year.
