A walk-off single from David Chabut brought home the winning run for the Lima Locos (10-3) in a 4-3 victory over the Irish Hills Leprechauns (7-7) at Simmons Field on Sunday.
It was a good day at the plate for the Lima Locos' Chabut. Chabut went 3-5 and drove in one. He singled in the third, fifth, and ninth innings.
Colin Stolly racked up two RBIs on three hits for the Lima Locos. He homered in the third inning and singled in the first and seventh innings.
Channing Nesbitt put together a nice outing. The Irish Hills Leprechauns managed just two hits off of Nesbitt, who allowed one earned run, walked three and struck out four during his five innings of work.
A bright spot for the Irish Hills Leprechauns in the defeat was Cliffton Landess, who allowed only two runs while striking out five.
David Nicholas Spear got the win, running his season record to 2-0. He struck out none, walked three and surrendered no hits.
Nic Laio couldn't get it done on the rubber for the Irish Hills Leprechauns, taking a loss. He lasted just 1 2/3 innings, walked one, struck out none, and allowed one run.
