The Irish Hills Leprechauns (22-20) and the Grand Lake Mariners (23-19) each put runners in scoring position on Thursday, but the Irish Hills Leprechauns capitalized on more RBI opportunities, pulling out a 4-3 win at Montgomery Fld (Eastview Pk).

The fact that the Irish Hills Leprechauns grouped all of their runs into the seventh inning helped them take advantage of their hits.

Brandon Phelps struck out six, paving the way for a the Irish Hills Leprechauns win. Phelps allowed one earned run on six hits and one walk over seven innings.

A bright spot for the Grand Lake Mariners in the defeat was Joseph Filosa, who allowed only two runs while striking out eight.

Filosa was charged with his second loss of the year.
