The Grand Lake Mariners (14-10) came out firing, but couldn't hang on to the lead, ending up on the losing side of an 8-5 ballgame against the Lake Erie Monarchs (9-15) on Friday at Wally Post Field.
While the Grand Lake Mariners led until the eighth inning, the Lake Erie Monarchs worked their way back and took the lead on a three-run home run by Ross Haffey.
