Dominic Mittiga had two extra base hits, helping the Lorain County Ironmen (16-24) to a 6-5 victory over the Lake Erie Monarchs (16-24) on Thursday at The Pipeyard.

Danny Cody had an impressive outing against the Lake Erie Monarchs' lineup. Cody held the Lake Erie Monarchs hitless over one inning, allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out three.

Maverick Prine racked up two RBIs on one hit for the Lake Erie Monarchs. He homered in the fourth inning.

Michael Stryffeler recorded his second win of the year for the Lorain County Ironmen. He struck out two, walked none and surrendered one hit.

Kevin Shul was charged with his third loss of the year. He lasted just three innings, walked two, struck out three, and allowed one run.

The Lorain County Ironmen were sparked by Rees Rua and Mittiga, who teamed up for three hits and five RBIs.
