The Nevada Big Horns (11-15) built an early lead against the Klamath Falls Gems (10-13), scoring three runs in the first inning, en route to a 5-3 win on Saturday at Kiger Stadium.

The Nevada Big Horns scored in the first on a two-run double by Kyler Brudwick and an RBI single by Alec Leighton.

Landon Lau racked up two RBIs on three hits for the Nevada Big Horns. He tripled in the seventh inning and singled in the fifth and ninth innings.

Alex Alvarado went a perfect 2-2 at the dish for the Klamath Falls Gems. He singled in the second and sixth innings.

Justin Contreras recorded his first win of the year for the Nevada Big Horns. He allowed two runs over 5 2/3 innings. Contreras struck out five, walked two and gave up six hits.

Isaac Mitchum (0-2) was the game's losing pitcher. He lasted just six innings, walked two, struck out eight, and allowed three runs.
