Fans were treated to a high-scoring affair Monday as the Klamath Falls Gems (1-0) outscored the Sacramento Heat (1-3) 20-18.

The two teams combined for 40 hits in the game.

Kyle Barret had two extra-base hits for the Klamath Falls Gems. He doubled in the first inning, homered in the second inning, and singled in the fourth inning.

Adam Finlay racked up four RBIs on two hits for the Sacramento Heat. He homered in the sixth inning and tripled in the eighth inning.

Noah Jarboe got his first win for the Klamath Falls Gems despite allowing five runs over five innings. Jarboe struck out four, walked four and gave up five hits.

Timothy Mendonca (0-1) took the loss for the Sacramento Heat. He allowed six runs in 1 1/3 innings, walked two and struck out two.

The Klamath Falls Gems pounded the Sacramento Heat pitching, as seven hitters combined for 19 hits, 14 RBIs and 16 runs scored.
