The Everett (20-6) came out firing, but couldn't hang on to the lead, ending up on the losing side of a 6-4 ballgame against the Douglas (5-12) on Saturday at Whalley Little League Park .
While the Everett led until the fifth inning, the Douglas worked their way back and took the lead on an RBI single by Matt Yee.
The Douglas were led by a flawless day at the dish by Chris Blaskovich, who went 2-2 against the Everett's pitching. He singled in the fourth and fifth innings.
Liam Kano-McGregor had an impressive outing against the Everett's lineup. Kano-McGregor held the Everett hitless over three innings, allowed no earned runs, walked one and struck out one.
Brett Sakaki recorded his first win of the year for the Douglas. He allowed four runs over five innings. He struck out four, walked two and surrendered eight hits.
Ryan Monson (1-2) took the loss for the Everett. He lasted just three innings, walked three, struck out two, and allowed one run.
