A walk-off double from Lorin Archibald brought home the winning run for the Lower Columbia (2-0) in a 4-3 victory over the Skagit Valley (0-2) at David Story Field on Friday.
Archibald went a perfect 2-2 at the plate for the Lower Columbia. He singled in the fifth inning and doubled in the ninth inning.
Toby Johnson had a busy day at the plate, collecting two extra-base hits. He singled in the seventh inning and doubled in the fifth and ninth innings.
Anthony Garcia pitched lights out for the Lower Columbia. The Skagit Valley managed just two hits off of Garcia, who allowed one earned run, walked one and struck out five during his four innings of work.
Stephen Hansen paced the Skagit Valley at the plate. Hansen went 3-5, drove in one and scored one run. He singled in the first, fifth, and seventh innings.
Cody Wiseman (0-1) took the loss for the Skagit Valley. He lasted just one-third of an inning, walked one, struck out none, and allowed three runs.
The Lower Columbia were sparked by Archibald and Johnson, who teamed up for five hits and four RBIs.
