The Linn-Benton (24-14) came out firing, but couldn't hang on to the lead, ending up on the losing side of a 3-2 ballgame against the SW Oregon (11-28) on Friday at LBCC Baseball Field .

A two-run single by Sam Mitchell gave the SW Oregon the lead in the sixth inning.

Dylan Pearce's eight strikeouts were enough to push the SW Oregon past the Linn-Benton. Pearce allowed two earned runs, six hits and one walk over seven innings.

Ian Scott ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with his third loss of the year. He lasted just five innings, walked one, struck out one, and allowed three runs.
