Early lead not enough for the Yakima Valley, drop 6-2 decision to the Everett

The Yakima Valley (6-7) jumped out to an early lead, but were unable to hold on and lost 6-2 to the Everett (8-3) on Sunday.

The Everett took the lead in the sixth inning on an RBI single by Aaron Avalos.

Bryce Steckler did his best to jumpstart the offense for the Everett, reaching base three times. He singled in the third innings.

The Yakima Valley couldn't get anything going as long as Jake Nelson was pitching. The Yakima Valley managed just one hit off of Nelson, who allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out four during his three innings of work.

Lucas Jungmann improved to 2-0 on the year by picking up the win for the Everett. He allowed two runs over six innings. Jungmann struck out four, walked one and gave up five hits.

Jorge Garcilazo couldn't get it done on the bump for the Yakima Valley, taking a loss. He lasted just 2 1/3 innings, walked two, struck out two, and allowed four runs.
