The Walla Walla (22-16) refused to relinquish the lead after grabbing it early against the Big Bend (23-14), recording an 11-1 victory on Wednesday at Warrior Field .
The game was decided quickly as the Walla Walla exerted their will early with six runs in the first three innings.
An RBI single by Cameron Walker and a three-run home run by Josh Kutzke in the first inning and an RBI single by Blake Macdonald and an RBI single by Walker during the second inning helped the Walla Walla put some runs on the board early.Steven Sordahl was hot from the plate for the Walla Walla. Sordahl went 3-4, drove in one and scored three runs. He homered in the fourth inning and singled in the second and sixth innings.
Jake Simmons picked up the win for the Walla Walla. Simmons pitched seven innings and allowed one earned run, eight hits and one walk while striking out one.
Chase Tunstall ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with his second loss of the year. He allowed six runs in 1 2/3 innings, walked none and struck out none.
