Dylan Harvey went 2-3 as the West Virginia Miners (1-0) took home a 2-1 victory over the Chillicothe Paints (0-1) at VA Memorial Stadium on Friday.

The West Virginia Miners relied on Tyler Rowe to eat up innings en route to the win. Rowe pitched 7 2/3 innings and allowed one earned run, four hits and five walks while striking out three.

Eli Boggess had two extra-base hits for the Chillicothe Paints. He doubled in the fourth and eighth innings.

Derek Hendrixson brought the heat against the West Virginia Miners during his outing. The West Virginia Miners managed just one hit off of Hendrixson, who allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out two during his two innings of work.

Jason Byers (0-1) took the loss for the Chillicothe Paints. He lasted just seven innings, walked one, struck out three, and allowed two runs.
