Wednesday was a great day for Bobby Dalbec, as he clubbed two home runs to carry the Orleans Firebirds (3-1) to a 10-1 victory over the Chatham Anglers (1-2) at Eldredge Park.
Dalbec racked up six RBIs on three hits for the Orleans Firebirds. He singled in the third inning and homered in the first and eighth innings.
The Orleans Firebirds continued to pile on the runs until the end of the game. The Orleans Firebirds scored three runs in the final three innings to cap the blowout win. A three-run home run by Dalbec delivered the runs in the eighth. The Orleans Firebirds had two hits in the inning.
Corbin Burnes picked up the win for the Orleans Firebirds. Burnes allowed one earned run, four hits and one walk while striking out four over 6 2/3 innings of work.
Ty Damron was charged with his first loss of the year. He lasted just two innings, walked two, struck out one, and allowed five runs.
