The Haysville Aviators (2-1) and the Hutchinson Monarchs (1-2) both had scoring chances on Monday, but it was the Haysville Aviators that were able to capitalize on them as they pulled out a 6-4 win at Lawrence-Dumont Stadium.

John Oliver racked up two RBIs on four hits for the Hutchinson Monarchs. He doubled in the fifth inning and singled in the first, seventh, and ninth innings.

Dylan Boisclair got the win, running his season record to 1-0. He allowed three runs over five innings. He struck out three, walked two and surrendered nine hits.

Jarrod Jameson couldn't get it done on the mound for the Hutchinson Monarchs, taking a loss. He lasted just 2 1/3 innings, walked four, struck out none, and allowed five runs.
