David Griffin held the Pittsfield Suns (17-18) scoreless for six innings to boost the Wachusett Dirt Dawgs (14-20) to a 14-0 victory.
Griffin allowed three hits, two walks and struck out five.
Seven runs in the opening three innings allowed the Wachusett Dirt Dawgs to easily put away the Pittsfield Suns. A sacrifice fly by Kurtis White, an RBI single by Jon Kristoffersen, a two-run error, and a two-run double by Jake Alu during the first inning supplied the early offense for the Wachusett Dirt Dawgs.
Max DiTondo racked up three RBIs on three hits for the Wachusett Dirt Dawgs. He singled in the first and third innings and homered in the seventh inning.
Adam Erkis was charged with his second loss of the year. He allowed eight runs in 3 2/3 innings, walked none and struck out one.
