Aaron Nardone went 2-2, sparking the White Sands Pupfish (31-19) to a 7-3 victory in seven innings over the Alpine Cowboys (30-21) on Saturday at Griggs Park.
He singled in the third inning and tripled in the fifth inning.Anthony Pastrana's seven strikeouts were enough to push the White Sands Pupfish past the Alpine Cowboys. Pastrana allowed one earned run on six hits and no walks over seven innings.
The Alpine Cowboys were led by Riley Smith's hitting. Smith went 1-4, drove in one and scored one run. He homered in the third inning.
Pat Lemmo ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with his first loss of the year. He allowed seven runs in six innings, walked five and struck out four.
