The Newark Pilots (1-0) jumped out to an early lead on the Capital City Reds (0-1) and captured an 11-5 victory on Saturday at Colburn Park.

With five runs in the first three innings, the Newark Pilots left no doubt about the eventual outcome.

A two-run triple by Charlie Sobieraski and a wild pitch during the first inning supplied the early offense for the Newark Pilots.

Sobieraski racked up four RBIs on two hits for the Newark Pilots.

Daniel Imbro got the win, running his season record to 1-0. He allowed two runs over five innings. He struck out four, walked none and surrendered five hits.
