Sheldon Neuse went 2-4 as the Harwich Mariners (14-19) took home a 3-2 victory over the Wareham Gatemen (14-19) at Whitehouse Field on Monday.
He singled in the sixth inning and doubled in the eighth innings.A bright spot for the Wareham Gatemen in the defeat was Ian Hamilton, who allowed only one run while striking out five.
Andrew Calica was solid at the plate for the Wareham Gatemen. Calica went 2-4, drove in one and scored one run. He singled in the fourth and fifth innings.
Spencer Trayner recorded his third win of the year for the Harwich Mariners. Trayner struck out none, walked none and gave up no hits.
Zac Houston (0-4) took the loss for the Wareham Gatemen. He lasted just 1 2/3 innings, walked one, struck out three, and allowed two runs.
